2026 World Cup Qualifying: Libya-based forward Orebonye leads Botswana squad

Libya-based Tumisang Orebonye is leading Botswana’s 26-member final squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Algeria and Somalia next weekend.


Zebras coach Morena Ramoreboli named his squad to face Algeria and Somalia on 21 and 26 March 2025 respectively in Gaborone. The squad has the Al Ittihad player leading a North Africa-based legion, including his club teammate Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Kabelo Seakanyeng of Maghreb Fes in Morocco.



Another notable inclusion in the squad is Botswana Premier League joint top scorer Thero 'Mahachi' Setsile who has scored 10 goals for Jwaneng Galaxy this season.

 

The Zebras are preparing for a Group G game against Algeria on March 21 then Somalia seven days later. The group also comprises Mozambique, Guinea, and Uganda.
