Head coach of Hearts of Oak Aboubakar Ouatarra has expressed joy over his charges resilience and eventual victory over Accra Lions on Sunday.
The Phobians came back from 2-1 down to beat a stubborn Accra Lions by 3-2 at the WAFA Park in Sogakope in a match day 15 encounter. Two late goals from substitute, Mawuli Wayo stunned the sparsely populated Accra Lions fans but to the joy of the scanty Phobians faithfuls.
Ouatarra, whose tactics has been questioned by a section of the media and some Hearts of Oak aficionados, spoke after the game. “I’m proud of the boys, I told them we are down by 2-1 but we can make it. Martin Karikari, Mawuli Wayo all changed the game but we took the three points and that’s most important thing,” Ouatarra said.
“We lost concentration when we came out of the dressing room but the important thing is we took the three points and the rest, I will correct it in the training ground.”
The record Ghana FA Cup holders’ quest to keep track of the top four remained intact following the victory and they now have 25 points in sixth spot.
They are just a point behind Nations fc and Bechem United, two points apart from rivals Kotoko and Gold Stars and five away from leaders, Heart of Lions after week 15.
