Reigning Ethiopian Premier League champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia lost 1-0 to Ethiopian Coffee on Sunday in a rescheduled week 1 game at Dire Dawa National Stadium.

The game was at first rescheduled as both sides were in CAF club competition commitment at the time.

CBE continued their below par form this season and found it tough to score goals. Coffee struck before the interval through Anteneh Teferra who finished off a superb fast transition. Teferra has bagged six goals in this campaign as he tops the league scoring chart together with Diredawa Ketema forward Mohammed Nur Nassir.

CBE have only scored once in their last four games as coach Betselot Luelseged and his charges continue to suffer in the top flight. Coffee has now won two consecutive matches.

Coffee climbed into sixth with 15 points, six points behind leaders Mechal. CBE are 16th with nine points. They are still fighting for survival following their league triumph last season.
