Algerian international Riyad Mahrez carried on his impressive form as he led Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli to the quarter final of the AFC Champions League.

The Jeddah outfit beat Qatar side Al Rayyan 2-0 to progress to the last eight. Mahrez scored a brace as Al Ahli emerged victorious 5-1 on aggregate.

Mahrez, 34, struck twice in the second half to assert Al Ahli’s dominance in both legs. He first chipped the Al Rayyan keeper after a superb lob pass from Galeno in the 77th minute. The former Manchester City player then finished off the ball inside the box following a pass from Gabri Veiga.

Al Ahli are the third Saudi Arabian side to book their place in the quarter final. Mahrez scored 8 AFC Champions League goals and provided seven assists this season.
