Kenyan giants AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia battled to a 0-0 draw in the latest edition of the Mashemeji Derby at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.

While many anticipated a game of goals from the first meeting between the two sides this season, the game produced no goals despite a sold out crowd at Nyayo Stadium for the FKF Premier League clash.

The derby kicked off in a great tempo with both sides going hard at each other and it was record champions Gor Mahia who nearly scored when Joshua Onyango fired in a ferocious shot that hit Samuel Semo from an Enock Morrison freekick.

In the 28th minute, Shariff Musa unleashed a powerful shot that forced Ingwe custodian Levis Opiyo into a fine save, with K'Ogalo scrambling to take advantage of the rebound before Ingwe’s defense cleared the danger. Five minutes later, Boniface Munyendo found himself with a golden opportunity to put Ingwe ahead after receiving a well-weighted cutback from Samuel Semo. However, he rifled his effort off target.

At Gusii Stadium, Shabana FC continued with their fine run of form at home following a 3-0 victory against struggling Murang'a Seal. Ezekiel Omuri put Tore Bobe ahead on the 23rd minute for a 1-0 lead at half-time.

In the second half, Austine Odongo grabbed a brace in the 46th and 56th minutes respectively to hand the Kisii-based Glamour Boys the ninth win of the campaign.

Kenya Police kept their lead at top of the 16-team table following a 1-0 win. Harambee Stars youngster Mohammed Bajaber scored the all-important goal in the second half.
