Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, Al Ahly’s team doctor, provided an update on the condition of forward Wessam Abou Ali. The player had complained of fatigue and mild circulatory collapse after arriving at Cairo International Airport yesterday morning.

This was attributed to the physical effort he exerted during Al Ahly’s match against Stade Abidjan, which was played in high temperatures and humidity. Abou Ali underwent a medical check-up before leaving the airport. In statements to Al Ahly’s official website, Dr. Gaballah confirmed that the striker underwent medical examinations to ensure his condition is fully stable.

Dr. Gaballah added that the player’s condition is not a cause for concern, stating that Abou Ali was present at the club this morning where both the technical and medical staff checked on him before proceeding to complete further tests. The player returned home and will participate in group training tomorrow.

Al Ahly recently secured a 3-1 away victory over Stade d'Abidjan in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League group stage, a result that qualified them for the quarterfinals ahead of their final match at home next Saturday against current Group C leaders Orlando Pirates.
