Al Ahly SC has requested Al-Kholood Saudi Club to settle financial dues related to the ongoing loan of Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng for the current season.

In an official statement, Al Ahly clarified that Al-Kholood was required to pay the loan fee by a deadline of September 15, 2024. However, the Saudi Pro League side has yet to fulfill this obligation.

The statement highlighted that Al Ahly refrained from escalating the matter in recent months because of the strong relationship between the two clubs, as well as the club's excellent ties with all Saudi clubs.

Al Ahly further noted in the statement that it has sent several correspondences on this matter, including letters to Al-Kholood on October 10 and October 28, 2024. Additionally, the club contacted the Saudi Football Federation on December 2 and sent further communications to the Saudi Pro League and its Recruitment Committee on January 12, 2025.

These efforts aimed to settle the outstanding payment to avoid any legal disputes, a path Al Ahly was hoping to avoid. The club added that the only response received from Al-Kholood was on September 25, 2024, in which the Saudi club apologized for the delay in settling the payment.

Aliou Dieng, who plays as a midfielder, has featured in 17 matches for Al-Kholood this season scoring two goals. During his time with Al Ahly, Dieng played in 213 matches contributing 7 goals and 11 assists. The 27-year-old has also represented Mali's senior national team 41 times scoring 2 goals.
