Sudanese giants Al Hilal confirmed the unavailability of Malian attacker Adama Coulibaly. Coulibaly is currently nursing an injury and will be unavailable for upcoming Mauritania Super D1 games, where Hilal compete for their domestic football duties due to the war in Sudan.
The medical department of the Omdurman outfit officially revealed that the 19-year-old attacker is undergoing a rehabilitation program with individual training expected to start next week. He was an unused substitute when Hilal fell 0-4 to TP Mazembe in their final CAF Champions League group stage match. Coulibaly has bagged six goals in all competitions for Hilal this season.
Coulibaly has been rumored to leave the Sudanese side this January transfer window. The reports linking him away from Hilal have categorically been rejected by the club. According to Arabic language outlet YallaKora, unnamed French Ligue 1 and Egyptian Premier League sides have Coulibaly on their radar.
Defender Abdelrazig Omer is also sidelined with an injury after Hilal beat Inter Nouakchott 3-0 in Round 17 of the Mauritanian Super D1 to sit second with 28 points. Coach Florent Ibengé hopes to have the two key players for the Omdurman derby against bitter rivals Al Merreikh, also participating in Mauritania's top flight for the same reason as Hilal.
