Mido Gaber, the winger of Egyptian team and current CAF Confederation Cup participants Al Masry, is set to undergo surgery in the coming days to repair and stabilize a recurrent stress fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.
This update was confirmed by the team’s doctor, Dr. Mahmoud El-Shahat, who explained that the decision to proceed with surgery was made after thorough medical examinations including MRI scans, CT scans, and X-rays. The diagnosis and surgical recommendation were further reviewed and approved by renowned global expert Prof. Dr. Nasif Mohamed Nasif, a specialist in ankle surgeries.
Dr. El-Shahat added that Mido Gaber will go through a recovery period following the operation before beginning an intensive rehabilitation program aimed at ensuring his swift return to the pitch. Early reports suggest that the 32-year-old will be out for at least a month.
