Mr. Taha Al-Mhezaa, media officer for Qatari club Al-Shamal SC, clarified to Pan-Africa Football the situation surrounding Baghdad Bounedjah and rumors linking the prolific Algerian striker to a move to Al Ahly SC in Egypt.

Responding to Pan-Africa Football's inquiry, Taha referred to previous comments he made on the subject shedding light on this speculation:

"Al-Shamal received inquiries about the possibility of Baghdad Bounedjah joining Al Ahly for the FIFA Club World Cup, but nothing official has materialized so far. What happened was only an inquiry with the player, However there is nothing official."

"Al-Shamal's management is the authority that decides to accept offers for Baghdad, whether from Al Ahly or any other club."

After a disappointing 2023-24 season with Al Sadd, Bounedjah continues to rejuvenate his club career in Qatar with Shamal. The 33-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided 6 assists in 11 Qatar Stars League matches along with 2 goals in 4 cup matches.
