JS Kabylie got off to a positive start in Constantine against CS Constantine but the hosts came back to level late in Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Stade Chahid Hamlaoui.

JSK attempted to keep pace with the top three and the visitors opened the scoring inside twenty minutes. Right back Fares Nechat had plenty of space for a cross and he picked out promising young striker Berkane Redouane who provided a clever finish for his sixth goal in all competitions this season.

But the hosts, whose domestic campaign has slowed down in 2025 after a successful CAF Confederation Cup group stage, restored parity in the final stretch. In the 82nd minute, a floated cross from the right wing was nodded down for Fethallah Tahar to produce a spendid first time strike from distance to give the hosts a point.

The result helps neither team in the end. JSK are now two points back of third place USM Alger and ten points back of leaders MC Alger. CSC, leaders at one point earlier in the season, now sit in seventh place. The league will resume play next Friday with CSC among the teams in action in the day's headline match at Paradou AC. JSK will host MC Oran.
