Two popular clubs from the Algerian capital of Algiers were in action on Thursday to begin the 15th round of matches from the nation's top division Ligue 1 Professionnelle.
It was a successful day for USM Alger and MC Alger who both earned victories. In the first match of the day, MCA won 2-1 at NC Magra despite falling behind early in the second half. Mohamed Halaimia's curling free kick cancelled out the opening goal from NCM's Moundhir Bouzekri before Halaimia scored again in second half stoppage time to give the visitors their first win in four league matches.
It was a much more relaxed match for USM Alger who won 3-0 at home against MC Oran. Saadi Radouani scored early in the second half before USMA secured victory with two goals in second half stoppage time. USMA are one point behind second placed rivals MCA and four points back of league leaders JS Kabylie with two less matches played.
Paradou AC continue to impress the football world with the club's policy of promoting graduates of their youth academy, gaining the notice of clubs abroad who continue to watch PAC matches closely. PAC won 2-0 at newly promoted side Mostaganem thanks to two goals from one of their starlets, Adil Boulbina, who leads the league with ten goals this season. The club based in Algiers are unbeaten in their last seven matches with four wins in their last five games.
