Algerian international Isamel Bennacer is ready to start individual training on Wednesday, 4th of December. The defensive midfielder has been out of action since September this year after making only one appearance in the Italian topflight.
According to Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport the 27 year-old player is expected to be fit for AC Milan in mid-December. Bennacer sustained a calf injury when his country beat Equatorial Guinea 2-0 in the 2025 African Cup of Nations Qualifier.
AC Milan will participate in the four team Italian Super Cup games in Saudi Arabia slated for January 2025 as coach Paulo Fonseca believes the influential midfielder will be fit enough to start games.
Bennacer had an injury plagued two seasons as he missed 18 games in the last campaign. His injury problem has also seen him making one appearance for ‘Les Fennecs’ in the 2023 African Cup of Nations where Algeria finished last at the group stage.
AC Milan confirmed that Bennacer has started light training and will be expected to continue his fitness routine at Milanello, the club’s main training ground.
Bennacer was an integral part of Algeria when they won the 2019 AfCON and helped Milan secure the 2021/22 Serie A title. His recent progress will be massively welcomed by Algerian coach Vladimir Petkovic.
