Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has extended his contract at Stade Rennes, prolonging his stay with the Ligue 1 side until 2029.
Seidu has been in fantastic form for the Rennes club until a knee injury sent him into the treatment room, limiting his playing time. Since joining Rennes fourteen months ago during the winter transfer window, Seidu has emerged as a crucial member of the squad.
His ability to play right back, left back, or as a center-back has earned him a coveted status. Despite his struggles, Seidu remains confident of coming into a better shape through hardwork.
"I keep working hard every day to prepare for my comeback and get back to my pre-injury level," said Seidu.
Rennes management has shown total confidence in Seidu's ability and temperament. Arnaud Pouille, Executive Chairman and CEO of Rennes, was delighted to confirm the extension: "His trademark smile isn't a facade; Alidu has a genuine, wonderful aura about him. On the field, too, he knows how to assume responsibility. He's a leader who has made his presence felt since his arrival. We're particularly looking forward to seeing him back on the field."
While undergoing his rehabilitation, Seidu is as committed as ever, eager to return to the pitch and pay back the confidence the club has in him.
