AmaZulu FC co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has bemoaned the South African team’s poor finishing after losing 0-2 to Sekhukhune United in a Betway Premiership match at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Wednesday evening.

Vilakazi, who heads the coaching panel alongside ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane, insisted that AmaZulu had enough chances to snatch points from the game but finding the goal remains a challenge for Usuthu.

"In all the games we have played, we always create goal-scoring opportunities; more than three per game, but we are not clinical enough,” he said. The 42-year-old added that solving the scoring problems might take time.

“It is unfortunate as other things cannot be rectified overnight. You just need to practice, practice, practice, and do more repetitions until you gain your confidence," the former Golden Arrows midfielder added. Ahead of the game, Vilakazi had hoped to collect maximum points and boost their dream of a top-eight slot but they were undone by Sekhukhune’s goals from Andy Boyeli and Linda Mntambo.

Usuthu, as AmaZulu are also known, remain in 12th place in the standings after failing to win in two consecutive league games whereas Sekhukhune lie in fourth position. The Durban club next face struggling Magesi FC on Saturday while Sekhukhune meet SuperSport United on Sunday.
