AmaZulu FC’s new signing Elmo Kambindu has promised to score goals for the Betway Premiership team. He joined from Chippa United on a two-and-a-half-year contract earlier this week.

Speaking to the Durban-based team’s media, the Namibian international said he was fully aware of why he was signed. “I am happy to be part of the family,” he said. “I am very happy to be here. I have been watching the club even though I was not here.

I want to achieve more, to score goals and that is one of the main reasons the club probably brought me here. The club can expect hard work and dedication that I put in every day.”

The 31-year-old, who scored five goals in 22 appearances for Chippa last season, becomes the eighth Namibian ever to join AmaZulu. He seems to have been brought to replace striker Junior Dion who was dispatched to Marumo Gallants on loan alongside Yanga Mjoli.

The Brave Warriors player has a chance to deliver the goods when AmaZulu face Stellenbosch on January 23, 2025, after being brought forward by two days.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu have loaned out Olwethu Mzimela and Siyanda Hlangabeza to join Durban City until the end of the season.
