Amin Harit, the Moroccan international and Olympique de Marseille star, has said a rare statement regarding the possibility of joining French giants Paris Saint-Germain. In statements made to Marseille and reported by Le Phoceen, Harit discussed the clubs that inspired him, his early sporting experiences and his attachment to Marseille.
Harit admitted to being inspired by iconic clubs during his youth:
"I have clubs that have always made me dream when I was little like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, those kinds of clubs." About joining PSG he said: "To be honest, signing for PSG, I think it's going to be very complicated. I don't really want to, honestly. But I'm very happy to be here, to be in Marseille. It's a club that I have a great attachment to today. I've been here for 4 years now so I don't see myself being anywhere else but here. Afterwards, you never know in football what the future holds for you."
Reflecting on his journey into professional football, Harit highlighted how his father influenced his decision to pursue the sport:
"I did several sports when I was young. I did swimming, I did a bit of judo, and at the same time, football. My father was a real football fan and he really pushed me towards football, even though I initially preferred swimming. But hey, I think it paid off! He was right. I think that like you today, football is for me the most popular sport in the world, so every young person dreams of playing football. I was pushed by my father, but also by my own desires, so that's why I decided to continue in football."
Harit’s journey from trying various sports as a child to becoming a key player for Olympique de Marseille is a testament to his dedication. Despite missing out on Morocco's dream run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to an untimely knee injury, the 27-year-old continues to thrive and show his quality.
