Angolan forward Zito Luvumbo was on target as Cagliari secured a 3-0 victory over Monza in Round 30 of Italy's top flight Serie A.
With Cagliari already leading 2-0, Luvumbo sealed the win in the 92nd minute. He latched onto a long pass from teammate Gianluca Gaetano, controlled the ball, and ran towards the box before slotting a left-footed shot past the Monza goalkeeper.
Earlier in the match, Nicolas Viola opened the scoring in the 49th minute while Gaetano doubled the lead in the 73rd.
This was Luvumbo’s second goal of the Serie A season, having featured in 19 matches so far. The Angolan international has also registered one assist in the campaign as Cagliari now sit 15th in the league table with 29 points, six points clear of the relegation zone.
Monza is coached by Italian defensive legend Alessandro Nesta, while Cagliari is led by Davide Nicola.
Luvumbo missed Angola’s last international break due to injury when Angola drew 1-1 away to Libya and lost 2-1 at home to Cape Verde.
