Tunisia Ligue 1 Professionnelle club ES Zarzis has officially announced the departure of their head coach, Anis Boujelbene.

The club expressed gratitude to Boujelbene for his contributions via their official Facebook page and wished him success in his future endeavors.

Boujelbene leaves ES Zarzis to assume the managerial role at Egyptian club Al Masry, replacing Ali Maher.

The contract of Boujelbene with Al Masry extends for a season and a half, ending at the conclusion of the 2025/2026 season.

The formation of the Tunisian coaching staff, which accompanies Boujelbene, includes:

  • Anis Ben Abdelkader as the assistant coach,

  • Mohamed Ben Habib Toumi as the goalkeeping coach,

  • Mohamed Wajih Belaid as the fitness coach,

  • Ashraf Ben Elhadi Tayari as the performance analyst,

  • Hassan Ben Salah El-Din as the rehabilitation specialist.

Since the beginning of the current season, Boujelbene has led ES Zarzis in 21 matches, securing 12 wins, five draws, and suffering four defeats. Under his leadership, the team scored 26 goals and conceded 16.

ES Zarzis currently sits in fifth place in the Tunisian top flight standings with 41 points, trailing league leaders Espérance by just four points after 21 rounds. The club, only promoted to Ligue 1 this season, have been a revelation under Boujelbene.

The Tunisian former player is no stranger to Egyptian football, having played for Al Ahly from January 2007 to January 2009.

During his time with the Cairo giants, he won the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, three Egyptian Premier League titles, one Egypt Cup, and one Egyptian Super Cup.

In Tunisia, he previously achieved domestic success with CS Sfaxien as a player, winning the Tunisian Ligue 1 and the Tunisian Cup. Despite his achievements as a player, Boujelbene is still yet to achieve his first trophy as a coach.
