Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has credited English Premier League legends Didier Drogba and Thierry Henry with shaping his playing style.

The Ghanaian international, who has been one of the brightest spots at Bournemouth this season, says understudying former Chelsea goal poacher Drogba and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry went a long way in developing his qualities at Bristol City.

"It was actually one of the assistant coaches at the time at Bristol that suggested I should be watching a lot of clips from my idols," Semenyo told Premier League TV. "He suggested Embolo from Monaco. He felt like my play style is very similar."

Semenyo, 25, has registered 10 league goal contributions this season, playing a key role in Bournemouth's impressive run in their 11-game unbeaten streak before it was ended by Liverpool on February 1.

"I watched Henry and Drogba for inspiration; movement, working on heading, just footwork, just those sort of things. I used my time watching them. I was out for three to four months. It was a lot of watching. I used the time wisely to watch them and included them in my game."

Since his switch from Bristol City to Bournemouth in January 2023, Semenyo has developed into a key figure for the Cherries as well as the national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.
