Betway Premiership club AmaZulu will no longer have a co-coach system leading the club after the Durban side announced the resignation of Vusi Vilakazi on Tuesday, leaving former Kaizer Chiefs boss Arthur Zwane as the head coach.

The 51-year-old Zwane, an accomplished player who represented the South Africa national team, began his coaching career with Kaizer Chiefs where he enjoyed his most fruitful playing years. Vilakazi's resignation paves the way for Zwane to take full control of AmaZulu who have enjoyed an improvement in form since the dismissal of Spanish head coach Pablo Franco in October.

Usuthu have risen up from the bottom half of the table to their current position of 6th place, with their most recent match ending with a dominant 3-0 victory over Betway Premiership relegation candidates Magesi FC. Zwane's first match in charge as head coach will be on Monday when AmaZulu host Cape Town City.
