Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have completed the capture of former top striker Sampson Eduku to help strengthen the frontline in the ongoing season.
The Porcupine Warriors completed the signing of the 29-year-old forward on a one-and-a-half-year contract following the successful completion of his medical. Eduku joins the record Ghana Premier League holders from Iraqi Premier League side Al Quwa Al Jawiya.
The striker’s career has cut across Samartex and the then GPL side, Tamale City, where he enjoyed a standout season in the 2022/23 campaign. Eduku scored 14 goals and provided four assists for Tamale City, catching the eye of top clubs with his swashbuckling form. His performances earned him a move to Iraq where he represented the Air Force club in the 2023-24 AFC Champions League.
Eduku's arrival adds depth to Kotoko's forward line that includes returnee striker Kwame Opoku and Albert Amoah. Kotoko are currently in sixth place with 28 points after 16 matches with the last round of first leg games set to end next week.
