The African Football Confederation (CAF) have inflicted a heavy fine on Senegal side ASC Jaraaf. Jaraaf is fined for their part on fans violence during a CAF Confederation Cup encounter against Algerian club USM Alger.
CAF discipline committee stated Jaraaf will be playing their next four interclub competition behind closed doors, two of which are suspended. These suspended matches will only be applied in the event of a repeat offense within the next 12 months.
Additionally they are fined 50,000 USD where half of it will be canceled if they avoid similar incident in the next one year. Jaraaf fans attacked USM Alger fans at the end of the match. But the Senegal side stated it was the visitors that provoked the incident to escalate. Jaraaf have three days to appeal the verdict.
Their next game will be in Dakar against Orapa United of Botswana on January 5.
