Pyramids FC assistant coach Ahmed Sami said he is confident that results will gradually improve in the coming period, especially after losing 7 points in the first five rounds of the league as well as the loss in the third round of the Champions League against Tunisia's Espérance.
Sami emphasized that everyone at the club is confident that things will get better in the coming period and that victories will return both locally and continentally in the upcoming matches. He explained that the technical staff has great confidence in the players and the current squad and that what happened is just a stumble that everyone will quickly overcome with Pyramids returning to victories and competing in all championships.
The assistant coach pointed out that, due to the support of the Pyramids management for the technical staff and players and the great trust placed in them, everyone is motivated to regain confidence starting with the Egyptian Premier League duel against Pharco on Wednesday at the Air Defense Stadium.
The goal is clear: victory with no alternative. Especially as there are successive strong matches after the Pharco clash including against El Gouna away from home and then the next CAF Champions League match against Espérance in Cairo on January 5. It is essential to achieve victories in these three matches to return to competing in the league and get closer to reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
He also noted that the recent loss of points can be compensated for as the league is still in its early stages and the competition continues until the very last moment provided there is focus and confidence.
In Group D of the CAF Champions League, Espérance Tunis leads with 7 points.
Pyramids FC follows in second place with 4 points, while Sagrada Esperança and Djoliba AC are tied with 2 points each. Fortunately for Pyramids, Group C is widely considered the weakest group and the Cairo club are heavy favorites to join Espérance in qualifying for the quarterfinals as one of the top-2 sides.
In the Egyptian Premier League, Pyramids are currently in fifth place with 8 points, three points behind league leaders Al Masry.
