The 24-year-old made history by becoming the first ever African player voted into the Women’s FIFPro World XI. The powerful forward is the only player, either male or female, from Africa to be included in the World XI. Over 28,000 professional footballers from 70 countries voted in the award process.

Banda, who captains the Zambian national team, netted four goals for the Copper Queens during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. She will be leading her nation in the next edition of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations which will take place next July in Morocco.

In other news, Cameroon and Manchester United custodian Andre Onana won the Player Impact award for his charitable work in his home nation. FIFPro also donated 10,000 USD to Onana’s philanthropy work in Cameroon. The Union Impact award went to the Cameroonian Player Union (SYNAFOC) after they finished ahead of the players’ unions of Greece and Portugal.
