Four matches took place over the weekend in South Africa's top tier Betway Premiership and the star of the show was Sekhukhune United's Congolese striker Andy Boyeli.
Acquired from Zambia Super League club Power Dynamos for the ongoing season, Boyeli followed up a match-winning performance against AmaZulu by exceeding it with a hat-trick in Sekhukhune's 3-0 victory at SuperSport United on Sunday. Boyeli scored all his goals in the second half against ten-man SuperSport who had Tashreeq Morris sent off soon after Boyeli's opener early in the second half.
Sekhukhune are now unbeaten in four matches and moved up to third place following the victory. In the earlier match on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs once again followed up a victory with defeat by falling 0-1 to Golden Arrows at home. Gladwin Shitolo scored the only goal in the second half for Arrows who moved past Chiefs into 5th place on the log.
In Saturday action, Bongani Zungu scored his first goal for AmaZulu as the Durban club earned a scrappy 1-0 victory at bottom side Magesi FC. The former Bafana Bafana midfielder fired a low shot that skipped past Magesi keeper Elvis Chipezeze for the only goal of the match to move Usuthu further up the table.
Finally, relegation battlers Marumo Gallants earned a valuable 1-0 home victory over Cape Town City. A first half penalty kick from Edgar Manaka was enough for Gallants who continue to put space between themselves and the relegation zone.
