Less than two weeks after suffering a surprise defeat to TS Galaxy, South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns had an opportunity to face the Mpulamanga Province side on Saturday and obtained sweet revenge.

Peter Shalulile scored within the opening minute and Iqraam Rayners scored the first of his two goals to put the hosts 2-0 up inside seven minutes in Pretoria, where the Brazilians won 4-1. Galaxy responded before the ten minute mark but a red card issued to striker Victor Letsoalo close to the half hour mark opened up space for Sundowns to dominate.

Jayden Adams restored the two-goal advantage before halftime and Rayners added his second soon after the break to confirm victory for Masandawana. Sundowns are twelve points clear of Orlando Pirates, who also won earlier on Saturday and have played three less matches than the leaders.

Saturday's victory begins a busy six-match stretch for Sundowns before they focus on the CAF Champions League quarterfinals where they clash with Tunisian giants Espérance ST. South Africa's dominant club are next in action on Wednesday with a tricky match at third placed Sekhukhune United, who defeated Chippa United earlier today.
