Richards Bay returned to winning ways on Friday after an excellent second half strike from Thulani Gumede confirmed a 1-0 victory over struggling Cape Town City at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.

The 23-year-old received a pass from Wandile Ngema and calmly curled his finish around diving Citizens goalkeeper Darren Keet. For most of the match the teams canceled each other out but the Natal Rich Boyz were able to produce the difference making moment through the talented winger.

The result moves the Durban club three places up on the table to 11th position. Cape Town City, who have not won a single match in any competition since defeating Richards Bay at home on January 17, remain perilously close to the relegation playoff position in 14th place, one point ahead of fellow strugglers SuperSport United.

Three matches will take place on Saturday in South Africa's top flight. Kaizer Chiefs travel to Chippa United while Sekhukhune United host Polokwane City in a top-6 clash. The early match will feature Marumo Gallants hosting Golden Arrows and the only match on Sunday sees TS Galaxy travel to face Magesi FC.
