Goals came at a premium on Wednesday in South Africa's top flight Betway Premiership with draws and narrow victories taking center stage after the main title contenders took part on Tuesday.

As has become the norm for Kaizer Chiefs supporters, disappointment arrived after a thrilling triumph. AmaKhosi failed to bring their shooting boots in a 0-0 home draw with Cape Town City. There was no shortage of opportunities for both teams but it is a disappointing result for Chiefs after a thrilling Nedbank Cup victory over Stellenbosch last weekend.

After surprising in the first half of the season, Polokwane City continued to drop results with a 0-1 defeat to visiting Golden Arrows. Striker Knox Mutizwa rewarded Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi for including the Zimbabwean in the eleven with the winning goal early in the second half. The Durban side move into a top-ten position with the victory and are a club on the up.

Heavy rain delayed the start of Wednesday's other match. Visitors Sekhukhune United moved into third place with a 2-1 victory at Marumo Gallants. Nigerian forward Chibuike Ohizu produced the match winner in second half stoppage time after Gallants striker Junior Dion cancelled out the opening goal from Sekhukhune's Linda Mntambo.
