Kaizer Chiefs look set to drop to the bottom half of the Betway Premiership table after failing to win for the third straight match on Saturday.
AmaKhosi fell to a 1-2 defeat at Golden Arrows, who came out on top in an even match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Knox Mutizwa's 78th minute tap in proved to be the match winner after Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma failed to adequately deal with substitute Siyanda Mthanti's cross.
The match was unfortunately a typical experience for Kaizer Chiefs supporters this season. Yusuf Maart failed to convert an early penalty just past ten minutes, putting his spot kick off the post to waste an early opportunity.
Mutizwa then set up Nduduzo Sibiya for an easy finish after Chiefs defender Inácio Miguel was exposed on the wing. Maart then equalized less than five minutes later in the 29th minute from a clever pass by Gastón Sirino. Chiefs, in 8th place currently, look set to drop at least two spots with Chippa United and Arrows in hot pursuit with games to make up.
Chippa won their second straight in the other early match on Saturday, downing AmaZulu by a 2-1 result. Zambian forward Enock Sakala scored his first goal in South Africa after making his first start for the Chilli Boys before Craig Martin doubled the lead. Tshepang Moremi pulled one back before halftime for Usuthu, who could not find another goal to restore parity.
Stellenbosch travel to Magesi FC in the later match on Saturday before three matches take place on Sunday.
