Kaizer Chiefs supporters finally have a worthy scalp to claim after AmaKhosi claimed a 1-0 victory away at Stellenbosch FC on Friday.
After a prolific transfer window, one of the new signings came through for Chiefs when Congolese winger Makabi Lilepo headed in a cross from Gaston Sirino following a short corner kick. The 5th minute goal stood as the match winner as Chiefs managed the match well in Cape Town. It was a disappointing effort from hosts Stellenbosch who drop points at home for the second straight match.
Meanwhile in Durban it was a much better outing for the host team. AmaZulu cruised to a 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants and it was on fire star Rowan Human who put Usuthu in the lead just before halftime. Veteran defender Wayde Jooste scored his first top flight goal since the 2018-19 season to double the lead on the hour mark and confirm victory for the hosts.
