Kamogelo Sebelebele's first league goal of the season came at the perfect time for Mpumalanga province side TS Galaxy who stunned Betway Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by a 1-0 score on Tuesday.

Dominance of possession meant nothing in the end for the South African champions who could not crack a determined Galaxy defense. Sundowns came close to opening the scoring in the 27th minute when Tashreeq Matthews set up Lucas Ribeiro for a shot that went off the post. Soon after, a powerful free kick tested Sundowns keeper Ronwen Williams who tipped over the bar.

But just before halftime the hosts struck. Sebelebele and Bosnian forward Dzenan Zajmovic combined excellently in a sequence that gave the winger room to advance in on goal and his low finish snuck under Williams to send the home supporters into delirium.

Sundowns continued to underperform after the halftime break. Teboho Mokoena's excellently struck free kick in the 57th minute was kept out by diving Ivorian keeper Ira Eliezer Tapé. Tapé was helpless to stop Mokoena's shot after the midfielder combined brilliantly with Ribeiro in the 82nd minute but fortunately for the Galaxy keeper, Mokoena's shot curled just wide and the hosts were able to hold on for only their second victory over Sundowns in ten meetings.

Sundowns remain nine points ahead of closest challengers Orlando Pirates but have played two more matches, giving the Bucs an opportunity to close the gap and move within range. TS Galaxy, enjoying a strong campaign, move into a top five position with the victory.
