Uganda Cranes midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga has returned to the United States ahead of a potential move to a new club, following the conclusion of his loan spell with Austin FC II.

Byaruhanga, who had been back in Uganda for an extended period, maintained his fitness through personal training and occasional sessions with former club Vipers SC. His return to the USA comes amidst growing speculation about his next destination, though details about his new club remain unconfirmed.

The 23-year-old midfielder was a key figure in Austin FC II’s 2023 MLS NEXT Pro title-winning squad, featuring in 26 matches across all competitions, including the playoffs, while scoring once and providing three assists.

He was also the first Austin FC II player to receive a senior international call-up during his time with the team.

Byaruhanga initially joined Austin FC II on loan from Czech Republic side MFK Vyškov in January 2023, with his second loan stint concluding at the end of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.

A former FUFA Male Player of the Year (2021), Byaruhanga started his professional career at Vipers SC, where he won multiple domestic titles before securing a move to Europe. With over 20 caps for the Uganda Cranes, he remains a key figure for the national team as he prepares for his next challenge.
