Botola Pro: Efficient RS Berkane overcome Raja

RS Berkane made it four consecutive clean sheets on Sunday as the Orange Boys defeated Raja Casablanca by a 2-0 score. The result wrapped up the weekend from Morocco's top division with RSB confirming their dominance and efficiency as well as an unbeaten streak that stretches back to early October.

RSB do not dominate their matches but specialize in finding positive results by punishing mistakes from their opponents. The first goal against Raja came in this fashion in the 9th minute when Oussama Lamlioui won the ball off a Raja defender and crossed for Ayoub Khairi, who had plenty of time before firing in an easy finish.

The Orange Boys confirmed victory late on with the second goal scored by club legend Issoufou Dayo, who converted a penalty kick for his 7th goal in all competitions this season. RSB are now nine points clear of second placed AS FAR following the result.

Earlier on Sunday, AS FAR had no problems with Chabab Mohammedia in a 2-0 victory. Botswana national team forward Tumisang Orebonye scored his third goal in two matches after the half hour mark and Ahmed Hammoudan doubled the lead before halftime.

It was a disappointing weekend for both Casablanca giants. Wydad AC went down to ten players following an early red card to Ismael Benktib, taking the lead in the 21st minute before conceding four unanswered goals against Maghreb Fez. Botswana national team star Kabelo Seakanyeng and former Wydad and Raja striker Hamid Ahadad were among the scorers for Fez who move past WAC into fifth place.

Finally another surprise team must be mentioned, Renaissance Zemamra. Many expected the hot start of RCAZ to decline but the third place holders extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches with a 3-2 victory over COD Meknes. A looping header from Malian defender Mahamadou Camara, his first Botola Pro goal, was the match winner for a club has bounced between the Botola and second tier Botola 2 over the last several years.
