RS Berkane are clearly the dominant club in Moroccan football at the moment! RSB continued their excellent form with Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Chabab Mohammedia, stretching their unbeaten streak in league play to ten matches.
RSB did have some trouble with hosts SCCM, who created very few opportunities but managed to frustrate the Orange Boys for most of the match. However, as seen in many matches this season, RSB managed to find the late goal they needed.
In the 79th minute a pass from Mohamed El Morabit found Oussama Lamlioui who finished over the onrushing goalkeeper to give RSB the lead. Youssef Mehri added one more goal in stoppage time, marking the third consecutive match he has scored in.
In Tetouan, it was a match filled with suspense between hosts Moghreb Tetouan and the top club from the Moroccan capital of Rabat, AS FAR. The Royal Army club found two goals in three minutes from Botswana national team striker Tumisang Orebonye to come back from a goal down in the second half. The hosts appeared to equalize in stoppage time but VAR ruled out the goal to the relief of AS FAR who currently sit in second place.
Finally, the inconsistent form continued for defending champions Raja CA who fell to a 2-0 defeat at Difaâ El Jadida away from home. It was a story of efficiency where the hosts converted their opportunities while Raja were wasteful despite controlling play for long periods.
Yassine Fatine opened the scoring for DHJ just before halftime and Mustapha Sahd confirmed victory close to full time with both goals arriving from corner kicks. Both teams are now level on 23 points in sixth and seventh position.
