RS Berkane are on the verge of clinching Morocco's Botola Pro title with five matches to spare after The Orange Boys secured a 2-0 victory at Moghreb Tétouan late Sunday evening.
After a scoreless first half, RSB maintined control and opened the scoring before the hour mark with a goal Oussama Lamlioui, his 10th in all competitions. Yassine Labhiri added another goal to move Berkane seventeen points clear at the top of the table. Without a defeat in all competitions since the beginning of October, RSB can rightfully claim they are the most in form club in Africa.
The race for Morocco's second CAF Champions League place is the event to watch at this point. AS FAR are level on 42 points with Wydad AC after the CAF Champions League quarterfinalists won 2-1 at Renaissance Zemamra, their first victory in three matches.
But for Wydad the result was less favorable against Rabat's Fath Union Sport who found a late goal to share the points in a 2-2 result. FUS are only two points back of AS FAR and Wydad, who have now drawn three consecutive matches.
With AS FAR and Wydad failing to show consistent form, there is a large group from which one or two clubs can emerge as contenders for a place in CAF club competition next season.
Raja CA are among the four teams in action on Monday to complete the 24th Round of matches with a fixture against COD Meknes.
