Orapa United have parted ways with coach Tiiso Gadimang and instantly hired Mogotsi Teenage Mpote as the new man in charge of the struggling Botswana Premier League team.

Gadimang lost his job two days after Orapa lost 2-0 to Union Flamengo Santos in a top-flight league match in Botswana. Orapa did not explain why they released the man who guided them in domestic league play as well as their ill-fated CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign.

“The club acknowledges the significant contributions coach Gadimang made during his time at Orapa United, first as an assistant coach and later as the interim head coach,” the club’s statement reads.

Opara have since announced the arrival of the former Township Rollers handler Mpote as the substantive head coach to replace Bulgarian Dimitri Pantev, who resigned after a heavy 6-0 loss to USM Alger in the Confederation Cup last November.

Gadimang took over the team in a caretaker role managing just one win in 10 games of three draws and six losses.
