Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo has expressed belief that his club, deserves a ticket for next season’s European football.
Semenyo’s first minute strike in the first half earned the Cherries a 1-0 victory at home to Fulham FC, helping them push harder for a European slot. The win placed them in 8th on 48 points - six away from a European spot.
Semenyo, 25, believes Bournemouth have put out enough quality play to deserve a European place next year. "I feel like what we have done this year we do definitely deserve the European places,” Semenyo told Sky Sports after the match.
"All season long we have been grinding and beating the top six teams. This little phase we are going through, losing and drawing, every team goes through that but that is why this win is so important.
"We came into the game wanting to give our all and you could see at the end in the celebrations that it meant a lot. It has been a tough couple of weeks, but it is good to be back on the board."
The Black Stars forward’s performance has courted massive praises among top former players and ex-Liverpool forward, Michael Owen was not left out of the positive reviews of Semenyo.
Speaking on Semenyo’s performance after the match, Michael Owen said, “I love this boy. I like him. He is a top talent.”
Semenyo has so far scored eight goals this season from a whopping 31 league games to his name. He played a key role in Ghana’s two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where the four time African champions beat Chad 5-0 in Accra and Madagascar 3-0 in Morocco.
