MLS NEXT Pro side New York Red Bulls II has confirmed that Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim Kasule has signed a new two-year contract with the club, keeping him at the team until 2027.

After his initial contract expired, both parties engaged in positive negotiations that resulted in the new deal. Since joining from Wakiso Giants in 2023, Kasule has been a pivotal player for the Red Bulls II, delivering remarkable performances under head coach Ibrahim Ssekagya. In his 48 appearances for the club, Kasule has scored 22 goals and provided eight assists.

He is currently tied as the second all-time leading scorer in the club’s history and holds the single-season scoring record with 15 goals. Head coach Ssekagya expressed his delight at Kasule’s contract renewal. "We are happy to have Kasule back with the squad. He is a talented midfielder with a nose for goals, and we are excited to keep him with our club."

Kasule’s impact has also been recognized at the league level, earning him a spot in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and two Player of the Month awards in July 2023 and March 2024.

Meanwhile, Kasule's compatriot Steven Sserwadda is reportedly close to finalizing a new contract with Red Bulls II following the expiration of his previous deal.

However, striker Frank Ssebufu has left the club after his contract was not renewed. The contract extension cements Kasule’s importance to the Red Bulls II and highlights his growing reputation in the MLS NEXT Pro league.
