Uganda Premier League side BUL FC is actively seeking an alternative venue as renovation works commence at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
A new artificial turf is being installed at the stadium, which has long served as the home ground for the Jinja-based club. BUL FC, having played their first-round fixtures at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe, recently returned to Njeru.
Their most recent and only match at the venue this season saw them secure a 3-0 victory against Mbale Heroes on Sunday. However, with renovation works now underway, the team must identify a temporary home.
The refurbishment at Njeru is expected to take approximately two weeks, ensuring the venue should be ready for BUL FC’s home league fixture against Kitara on March 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, the club will host Bugoiga Leopards in the Stanbic Uganda Cup at Gaddafi Arena in Jinja on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Should the renovations at Njeru experience delays beyond the Kitara fixture, BUL FC is likely to turn to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo Stadium in Kampala as an alternative, as no other stadium in Jinja currently meets FUFA’s requirements for top-flight matches.
