Burkina Faso national team player Issa Kaboré completed his latest loan move on Monday after Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen announced the acquisition of the 23-year-old right back.

Kaboré, a member of English Premier League club Manchester City, will be on loan for the sixth time since joining the reigning English champions in 2020. The native of Bobo-Dioulasso joins Bremen after an unsuccessful loan at Portuguese giants Benfica where Kaboré made only seven appearances, spending most of his spell in Portugal on the bench.

Named the Best Young Player at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, Kaboré previously spent time with Premier League club Luton Town for the 2023-24 campaign and a season each at Olympique Marseille and Manchester City partner club Troyes in Ligue 1. He joins a Bremen team that is enjoying a good season so far in 7th place on the Bundesliga table.

Despite inconsistent playing time with Benfica, Kaboré continues to be an essential member of the Burkina Faso national team. The player who began his career at Bobo-Dioulasso club Rahimo FC played every minute in five of the Stallions' six matches and contributed two assists during their successful qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Kaboré has 40 appearances and 2 goals with the senior Burkina Faso team.
