Burundian Ndayiragije Etienne takes over as Kenya Police FC head coach

Struggling Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League side Kenya Police FC have announced Burundian Ndayiragije Etienne as the new head coach.


Etienne,45, has been in charge of the Burundi National team and his team faced Kenya in Malawi on match day three of the 2026 World Qualifiers. Sofapaka coach Robert Matano and Patrick Aussems formerly of Singida Black Stars are some of the coaches, who had been linked the job.


In a statement seen by Pan-Africa Football, Police announced: “We officially unveil Ndayiragije Etienne as Head Coach. In the presence of our Club Chairman, Mr. Nyale Munga, Coach Etienne takes the reins to lead us into an exciting chapter of ambition and growth.


“Renowned for his expertise and winning mindset, Coach Etienne’s appointment signals our commitment to achieving excellence both on and off the pitch.”


Apart from, Burundi Ndayiragije Etienne has coached Tanzania national team Taifa Stars and Mainland Tanzanian Premier League outfit Azam FC.


He finds Police sitting second from the bottom of the 18-team league with eight points from seven matches. They have won one match, drawn five and lost one.


He comes in to replace Salim Babu, who was shown the exit door alongside his entire technical bench owing to a string of poor results. Police will next face AFC Leopards on Saturday.
