Associação Black Bulls (Black Bulls) FC have decided against camping in South Africa and Nigeria for their crunch CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches against Enyimba FC and Zamalek FC.

The Mozambicans travel to Nigeria on January 5 for the Enyimba assignment then host Zamalek FC six days later.

However, Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo is unfit to host such high-profile matches. Black Bulls initially wanted to host Zamalek in Nigeria after the Enyimba game or in South Africa. However, Black Bulls’ management has released a statement saying that they have opted to remain in Cairo for 15 days.

“After evaluating various options, including welcoming Zamalek in South Africa or remaining in Nigeria, we opted for the most efficient and strategic solution. Considering the financial costs and the impact of travel, we've decided to go directly from Nigeria to Cairo, avoiding the physical wear and tear of frequent trips,” the statement reads.

“We will remain in Cairo for 15 days, where we will have access to quality training camps, allowing for a smoother preparation for the upcoming challenges. Together, with the unconditional support of our fans, sponsors and partners, we will overcome challenges and build memorable victories.”

The Mozambicans are enjoying a decent debut in Group C of the continental cup overcoming a 2-0 loss to Group D leaders Zamalek before holding Al Masry to a one-all draw and beating Enyimba 3-0.

Black Bulls made the announcement after CAF gave them up to December 23, 2024, to choose their home venue for the Zamalek game.
