Orapa United coach Tiiso Gadimang has shared his thoughts on aspects his Botswana team must improve to reach the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
Gadimang said this after drawing 0-0 at home with ASC Jaraaf in a Group C game at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium on Sunday to remain bottom. The coach said his team needs to improve on finishing to progress in the continental competition.
“It was too hot and we needed to take the game to Jaraf from the first minute and that is what we did. We had four clear chances which we could have scored,” he said.
The coach added that Orapa must also avoid making unforced errors in the remaining matches in the group against USM Alger and Jaraaf.
“We need to minimize individual mistakes and work a lot in front of the box,” he said.
The team from Botswana started the group stage campaign with an away 6-0 loss to Alger before sharing the spoils at 0-0 with ASEC Mimosa. The Ostriches, who have two points from three games in the group, will travel Senegal for the reverse fixture against Jaraaf on January 5, 2024.
Jaraaf coach Malick Daf accepted the result even though he felt they could have won the game.
