We are approaching the halfway point of the 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup group stage and Sunday's slate of eight matches features a few duels for the status of group leader. USM Alger host ASEC Mimosas with both teams each on four points in Group C while an all-Egyptian clash between Al Masry and Zamalek will determine the Group D leader going into the new year. Bravos do Maquis (ANG) vs CS Constantine (ALG)- Luanda, Angola

It has been an almost flawless campaign so far for Algeria's CS Constantine who are inspired by the brilliance of captain and playmaker Brahim Dib. The 31-year-old will lead his team into Angola against a Bravos do Maquis side who will hope to take advantage of the humidity to achieve an upset. CS Sfaxien are surprisingly without a point and now the Tunisian club has to go into the loud cauldron of the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to take on Simba who have only conceded five goals in seventeen matches across all competitions.

RS Berkane (MAR) vs Stade Malien (MLI)- Berkane, Morocco

CD Lunda Sul (ANG) vs Stellenbosch (RSA)- Luanda, Angola

Everything is going as planned for RS Berkane, last season's Confederation Cup runners-up, who are a model of consistency in both domestic and continental matches. The Orange Boys host a very capable Stade Malien team who will look to prove themselves as contenders to win the group. In Angola, South Africa's Stellenbosch have not lived up to expectations so far and they need at least four points from their two matches against CD Lunda Sul who have a strong defense and will make things difficult.

USM Alger (ALG) vs ASEC Mimosas (CIV)- Algiers, Algeria

Orapa United (BWA) vs. ASC Jaraaf (SEN)- Francistown, Botswana

Group C is going as expected so far and now the two group favorites will clash in Algiers with USM Alger looking to establish themselves as group leaders. ASEC, who have struggled in Ivory Coast's Ligue 1 over the past year-and-a-half, are finding their form in the Confederation Cup but must play to their full potential on Sunday. Despite sacking their head coach after a 6-0 defeat to USM Alger, Orapa United remain in contention and the Ostriches need to turn up in Botswana against visitors ASC Jaraaf of Senegal.

Fixtures

Zamalek (EGY) vs Al Masry (EGY)- Cairo, Egypt

Black Bulls (MOZ) vs Enyimba (NGA)- Maputo, Mozambique

Al Masry are the current surprise leaders early in the Egyptian Premier League campaign and The Green Eagles continue to prove it is not because of luck. Masry will look to claim another scalp in Cairo against defending Confederation Cup champions Zamalek who are under interim management after Jose Gomes left for the Saudi Pro League this week. Black Bulls are an intriguing side and the Mozambican champions have their eyes on three points against visiting Enyimba who gained momentum with a comeback 2-2 draw at home against Zamalek last weekend.
