Egyptian club Zamalek SC has reached an agreement with Mozambique’s Black Bulls for their second Group D match in the CAF Confederation Cup to be held in Cairo instead of Mozambique.
The match, originally set to take place in Mozambique, is scheduled for January 12, 2024. The agreement follows a ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to relocate the game due to security concerns in Mozambique.
Zamalek’s football director, Abd AlWahid El-Sayed, negotiated successfully about the venue change with Black Bulls officials. The Cairo club and defending CAF Confederation Cup champions have already initiated formal correspondence with CAF to get approval for the change in venue.
In the Group D standings, Zamalek leads with 7 points, followed by Black Bulls and Al Masry each on 4 points with Black Bulls ahead on goal difference. Nigeria’s Enyimba sits at the bottom with just 1 point.
