Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe is set to visit 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) host nations Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda this week.
The visit is scheduled for Thursday, December 19, and Friday, December 20, 2024.
Dr. Motsepe’s tour will begin in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Thursday morning. He will then proceed to Nairobi, Kenya on Friday morning before concluding his three-nation visit in Kampala, Uganda later that afternoon.
The purpose of the tour is to engage with government officials, football leadership and Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) from the three host countries. Key activities during the visit will include site inspections of stadiums and training facilities undergoing renovations ahead of next year's prestigious tournament.
This visit follows CAF's second inspection tour conducted in November during which a CAF delegation assessed stadiums, training grounds, hotels, airports and other essential infrastructure in the three nations.
CAF President’s Three-Nation Tour Schedule:
Thursday, 19 December: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Friday, 20 December (morning): Nairobi, Kenya
Friday, 20 December (afternoon): Kampala, Uganda
The tour underscores CAF's commitment to ensuring that CHAN 2024 meets international standards, with a focus on infrastructure readiness and organizational capacity in the three host nations.
