Simba SC of Tanzania and Algeria's CS Constantine are through to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup after both clubs secured favorable results on Sunday in Group A.
A dreadful early error from Simba put the Reds behind early in Angola but Leonel Ateba's second half strike leveled the match to give Simba the point they needed in a 1-1 draw. Simba, in second place two points behind Constantine, are three points ahead of third placed Bravos but cannot be caught due to their head-to-head record against the Angolan club.
Simba will look to win the group next week with a victory when they host Constantine, who defeated last placed CS Sfaxien of Tunisia with a 3-0 thumping in Algeria. Captain Brahim Dib set up two goals for Zakaria Benchaa as CSC took advantage of a nightmare season for the Tunisian club, who still have yet to collect a point in the group stage and have long been eliminated.
