Simba SC got off to a nightmare start in CAF Confederation Cup Group A action on Sunday but the Tanzanian club bounced back to defeat Tunisia's CS Sfaxien by a 2-1 score in Dar es Salaam. Kibu Denis scored both goals with his head (video below) in the victory after a defensive mistake gave CSS the lead inside the opening five minutes.

A poor giveaway by the Simba defense saw the vociferous home crowd silenced in the 3rd minute when Hazem Haj Hassen slipped his shot between the legs of Simba goalkeeper Moussa Camara. However it took less than five minutes for the hosts to respond when poor marking on a Jean Charles Ahoua free kick allowed Kibu to head in the leveler.

It looked like Simba would not get their reward for dominating the remainder of the match but Kibu secured his hero status deep into second half stoppage time with a diving header to send the Simba supporters into delirium.

Simba move into second place in Group A with six points, trailing Algeria's CS Constantine due to the goals scored tiebreaker. Meanwhile, Bravos do Maquis stunned CSC in Angola by a 3-2 score in a dramatic match that featured numerous twists and turns. CSC came back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to level the match only for their Angolan hosts to find the match winner in stoppage time. Now three teams are all level on six points.
