Simba SC midfielder Jean Ahoua has warned his teammates to stay focused despite picking a second straight victory in their Caf Confederation Cup campaign.

The Wekundu wa Msimbazi defeated CS Sfaxien 1-0 away on Sunday to stay level with Algerian club CS Constantine on nine points at the top of the group. Ahoua scored the all-important goal in the first half of the game in Tunis.

“I am very happy because this game was very important, we need maximum points to stay on course to qualify and we managed to win, it was very crucial that we win the game,” Ahoua told Pan-Africa Football.

“Now we feeling good but we need to be focused because the job is not done yet, we have two very important games to play and we must stay focused to make sure we do the job, I know it will not be easy but we will do everything possible to qualify for the quarter-finals.”

Simba Media Officer Ahmed Ally said; “The focus of coach Fadlu Davids by this stage was to have at least garnered 10 or 12 points but the plans never worked as planned but what I know we have not gone wrong in our plans, we are still on course and the fans should keep rallying behind the team.”

With three clubs each level on six points heading into Sunday's matches, Simba needed a result and it was Ivorian forward Ahoua who provided the decisive moment. A long ball from the Simba defense was cleverly touched into the CSS penalty area by Leonel Ateba and Ahoua pounced to smash his finish into the goal.
